Minnesota Twins Homestand Highlights: July 3-9

Twins return to Target Field for six-game, seven-day stay vs. Kansas City and Baltimore; A tribute to the late Mike Radcliff, holiday fireworks and more on deck

MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins return to Target Field tonight for their seventh homestand of the season, a six-game, seven-day stay packed with festivities, including fireworks, theme nights, gate giveaways and more. The homestand begins tonight (Monday, July 3) with the first of three games against division rival the Kansas City Royals through Wednesday night. After KC departs, the Twins will enjoy an off-day on Thursday followed by a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles from Friday-Sunday, the Birds’ lone scheduled trip to Target Field this season.

TRIBUTE TO MIKE RADCLIFF

Tonight, July 3, the Twins will pay tribute to longtime club executive Mike Radcliff, who passed away in early February after a courageous three-plus-year battle with cancer. The tribute will feature a pregame ceremony, remarks by former general manager Terry Ryan, a special jersey patch worn by Twins players and on-field staff, and a ceremonial first pitch thrown by Radcliff’s grandson, Reece Kuchenrither, among other activations detailed below. Additionally, most of the Twins’ amateur scouting staff will be in attendance, along with some current and former professional scouts.

DIVERSITY CELEBRATION

The Twins will host the club’s 12th annual Diversity Celebration on the homestand off-day, Thursday, July 6, starting at 4:00 p.m. at Target Field. The celebration will feature a social hour for local community leaders, followed by a program beginning at 5:00 p.m. featuring keynote speakers Bob Kendrick, president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and Dr. Yohuru Williams, distinguished university chair and professor of history, as well as founding director of the Racial Justice Initiative at the University of St. Thomas. TWINS VS. KANSAS CITY ROYALS: TONIGHT (MONDAY, JULY 3) – WEDNESDAY, JULY 5 (3 GAMES)

Monday, July 3 vs. Kansas City Royals (7:10 p.m.; gates open at 6:00 p.m.)

  • Thank you, M Rad: The Twins will honor the late Mike Radcliff, a beloved member of Minnesota’s front office who passed away in February after a courageous three-plus-year battle with cancer. Over his 36-year tenure with the Twins, Radcliff provided guidance, mentorship and leadership across all areas of player evaluation – major league, minor league and amateur, while helping to oversee the club’s professional, amateur and international scouts.
  • Pregame Ceremony: A pregame ceremony beginning at approximately 6:44 p.m. will feature a tribute video, remarks from former general manager Terry Ryan, the presentation of a gift to the Radcliff family from the 2023 Twins (presented by Jorge Polanco) and a donation to the Minnesota Twins Community Fund.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by 10-year-old Reece Kuchenrither, Radcliff’s grandson, caught by Twins manager Rocco Baldelli.
  • Jersey Patch: Twins players and on-field staff will wear an “m rad” patch on their jerseys tonight.
  • Mike Radcliff Scout Seats: Starting in 2024, seats 1-4 in Section 114, Row 5 will be marked with a special design memorializing Radcliff. Siblings and Twins RBI participants Keegan and Kylee Erb, who will participate in the pregame ceremony, will spend the game in those seats.
  • Postgame Fireworks: Celebrate the Fourth of July a day early with a fireworks show following tonight’s game.

Tuesday, July 4 vs. Kansas City Royals (1:10 p.m.; gates open at 11:30 a.m.)

  • Gate Giveaway – T-Shirt Tuesday with Philipo Dyauli: The Twins’ T-Shirt Tuesday artist series returns for the third of six installments during the 2023 season. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a Twins-inspired T-shirt designed by Philipo Dyauli. A self-taught painter, muralist and illustrator from Tanzania who is currently based in Minneapolis, Dyauli’s work uses color and scale to illustrate the importance of people while exploring issues of identity and multiculturalism, as he reflects on his life in East Africa and the United States.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Staci Slaughter, co-host of KS95’s No. 1-rated afternoon drive show, Staci & Hutch.
  • Introducing Pepsi Colachup: Nothing goes better with baseball than a hot dog and a nice, cold Pepsi! In partnership with the Culinary Institute of America Consulting (CIA), Pepsi is reimaging what gameday condiments can be by introducing Colachup – the world’s first Pepsi-infused condiment! Fans can sample Colachup at Target Field in Section 113 on July 4, taking their tastebuds to new heights. Target Field is one of four MLB venues to feature Colachup on July 4, joining Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ; Yankee Stadium in Bronx, NY; and Comerica Park in Detroit, MI.

Wednesday, July 5 vs. Kansas City Royals presented by Topps (6:40 p.m.; gates open at 5:30 p.m.)

  • Theme Night – Wine, Women & Baseball: The Twins’ popular Theme Night Wine, Women & Baseball returns for the third of four dates in 2023! This package includes a ticket to the game, an exclusive Twins-branded crossbody bag and access to a pregame hospitality event featuring wine tastings, light appetizers and dessert.
  • Pregame – June Part-Time Employees of the Month: The Twins will recognize the organization’s June part-time Employees of the Month on the field prior to the start of the game.
  • Ceremonial First Pitch – Timberwolves: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid, who recently signed a three-year contract extension.
  • Ceremonial Pitcher: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by 2023 Play Ball! Minnesota Ms. Softball Jessa Snippes. A right-handed pitcher from Rosemount High School, Snippes has committed to continuing her softball career at the University of Minnesota.

TWINS VS. BALTIMORE ORIOLES: FRIDAY, JULY 7 – SUNDAY, JULY 9 (3 GAMES)

Friday, July 7 vs. Baltimore Orioles (7:10 p.m.; gates open at 5:00 p.m.)

  • Gate Giveaway – Carlos Correa “C4” Bobblehead: The first 10,000 fans through the Target Field gates on Friday night will receive one of two Carlos Correa “C4” Bobbleheads, depicting the shortstop in the club’s new “Twin Cities” home alternate uniform and with his signature “C” and “4” hand signals.
  • Pregame – June Front Office Employees of the Month: The Twins will recognize the organization’s June front office Employees of the Month on the field prior to the start of the game.
  • MSHSL Champs: Prior to Friday night’s series opener against the Orioles, the Twins will recognize the Minnesota State High School League baseball and softball champions. The state softball tournament was held from June 8-9 at Caswell Park in Mankato, while the baseball state tournament took place on June 16 at CHS Field in St. Paul.   • Baseball: A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by 2023 Play Ball! Minnesota Mr. Baseball Easton Breyfogle. An outfielder from Benilde-St. Margaret’s, Breyfogle has committed to continue his career on the diamond at the University of Arizona.
  • Gate Giveaway – LED Lightbulb: On their way out of Target Field on Saturday, fans will receive an LED Lightbulb presented by Xcel Energy, in recognition of the Twins’ and Xcel Energy’s shared commitment to sustainable energy.
  • Higher Power: Saturday is Faith Day at Target Field, in collaboration with PraiseLive. Fans who purchase this special theme day package will receive a ticket to the game and access to a special postgame program featuring live worship music from Christian rock band Sanctus Real and player testimonies (event is weather permitting; player appearances subject to change).

  • A member of the T.C. Sluggers Kids Club will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
