LOS ANGELES – Dodger outfielder Mookie Betts will compete in the 2023 T-Mobile Home Run Derby, on Monday, July 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The 2023 T-Mobile Home Run Derby will be held at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, WA and broadcasted live by ESPN and MLB.com beginning at 8:00 p.m. (ET)/5:00 p.m. (PT).

Betts, who leads the Dodgers with 20 homers this season will make his first appearance in the derby as he was announced to the National League All-Star roster as the starting right fielder last night. The seven-time All-Star recorded his seventh straight 20-homer season (excluding the 2020 season) on Wednesday night and he is currently fifth in the National League in homers, while ranking amongst the league leaders in various other categories, including slugging percentage (.523, 7^th), OPS (.883, 10^th) and runs (61, 3^rd).

This will be the 13^th time a Dodger will appear in the derby and first since Joc Pederson in 2019. He will be the 10^th different Dodger player to compete in the Midsummer extravaganza, joining Mike Piazza (1993, 1994), Rául Mondesi (1995), Hee-Seop Choi (2005), Matt Kemp (2011, 2012), Yasiel Puig (2014), Joc Pederson (2015, 2019), Corey Seager (2016), Cody Bellinger (2017) and Max Muncy (2018).  The Dodgers have not had a derby winner, but in 2015 Pederson reached the finals, losing to eventual champion Todd Frazier at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, OH.

The annual showcase currently features infielder Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and outfielder Julio Rodriguez with the other five participants to be announced in the coming days.

The first-round brackets are seeded based on 2023 homer totals through the first half of the season, while ties are broken up by awarding the higher seed to the player who reached his current home run total first.
