The Washington Nationals agreed to terms on a one-year contract with infielder/outfielder Josh Harrison on Thursday. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.

Harrison, 33, returns to Washington after hitting .278 with two doubles, three homers, 14 RBI, six walks and 11 runs scored in 33 games for the Nationals in 2020. He hit .309 with a .388 on-base percentage and a .471 slugging percentage in 22 starts at second base (8 GS), third base (7 GS), left field (3 GS), right field (1 GS) and designated hitter (3 GS).

A National League All-Star in 2014 and 2017, Harrison spent the first eight seasons (2011-18) of his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates, before joining the Detroit Tigers in 2019. He spent Spring Training and Summer Camp with the Philadelphia Phillies, before joining the Nationals on July 27, 2020.

A veteran of 10 Major League seasons, Harrison has hit .273 with 163 doubles, 28 triples, 56 home runs, 291 RBI, 132 walks, 80 stolen bases and 384 runs scored in 911 career games. He has appeared at second base (443 G), third base (276 G), shortstop (37 G) and in the outfield (116 G), during his Major League career.
