November 12th, 2020

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s Community Fund and Chevron today announced a $30,000 technology grant to Stege Elementary in Richmond. The donation will cover the cost of the Apple California Department of Education iPad plan for 250 students' Apple iPads.

“It is critical that students have access to technology services for educational success. Thanks to the support of our incredible partner, Chevron, we are proud to provide a grant to Stege Elementary to ensure students have the resources they need this school year,” said Oakland A’s Vice President of Communications and Community, Catherine Aker.

“Chevron is proud to partner with the Oakland A’s to inspire the next generation of problem solvers by supporting STEM education and the Oakland A's Community Fund. By providing the needed technology for students to safely learn at home, it's our hope that Richmond students will have the resources to be successful during 2020 and beyond," said Paige Millard, Partnership Marketing Specialist at Chevron.

The technology grant will support every student at Stege, a kindergarten through 6th grade elementary school. The technology will assist the school in undergoing a re-design with new curriculum and instructional materials to allow for better distance learning options should classes continue virtually in 2021.
