Padres announce 2021 regular season broadcast schedule

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres, in partnership with Bally Sports San Diego and 97.3 The Fan, today announced their 2021 regular season broadcast schedule. All regular season Padres games will be televised in English on either Bally Sports San Diego, ESPN, FS1 or FOX Sports. Games produced by Bally Sports San Diego will also be available for live, authenticated streaming on the Bally Sports app and on BallySports.com, and minimum of 75 regular season games will be available on a Bally Sports Spanish-language broadcast offering. Additionally, all 162 regular season games will be broadcast live on the radio in both English and Spanish on 97.3 The Fan and XEMO-AM La Poderosa 860, respectively.

Regular season coverage on Bally Sports San Diego begins Thursday, April 1, with the Padres’ season opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Coverage will begin at 11:30 a.m. PT with a 90-minute Padres Live pregame show leading into the game. Coverage concludes with a 30-minute Padres Live postgame show.

Don Orsillo returns to handle the television play-by-play duties in 2021. He will be joined by former Padres pitcher Mark Grant, returning in the role of analyst. Mike Pomeranz, Mark Sweeney, Bob Scanlan and Annie Heilbrunn will round out the Bally Sports San Diego broadcast team. 

The network will continue to deliver Padres Live pregame and postgame coverage, providing fans with unmatched access to the team with interviews, original features and more. Pomeranz and Sweeney will again deliver expert analysis all season long.

Spanish TV coverage during the 2021 season begins on May 14 with a Bally Sports Spanish-language broadcast offering that features approximately 56 home games and an additional 19 road games. Spanish-language voice of the Padres, Eduardo Ortega, returns to celebrate his 35th season with the club and 41st in broadcasting, along with former Padres catcher, Carlos Hernandez. Bally Sports Spanish-language telecasts will be available throughout San Diego on COX. Select games will also be available in Las Vegas on COX.

All 162 regular season Padres games will air live on radio in both English and Spanish in 2021. English broadcasts with Jesse Agler and Tony Gwynn Jr. can be found on 97.3 The Fan and streamed on the Radio.com app. The Fan will also be home to one-hour pre and postgame shows in 2021.

Spanish radio broadcasts featuring Eduardo Ortega, Carlos Hernandez and Pedro Gutiérrez can be found on the Padres’ Spanish flagship station, XEMO-AM La Poderosa 860. 

Padres programming airing on Bally Sports San Diego will also stream live on the all-new Bally Sports app and on ballysports.com when a consumer authenticates through their pay-tv service. Both the app and website will launch in coordination with the network rebrand on March 31, 2021. The Bally Sports app will be available on mobile and tablet devices, including iOS and Android, as well as connected devices including, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, PlayStation, Roku Players and Roku TV, Samsung and LG platforms and Xbox One. The FOX Sports GO app will update to the all-new Bally Sports app upon the rebrand. Fans can also download the app for free from the iTunes App Store, Google PlayAmazon App StoreRoku App StoreXBOX One App Store and Windows App Store.

The Padres will also be featured on several national broadcasts beginning with their return to ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball for the first time since 2014 when they visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 25 and then again on May 16 when hosting the St. Louis Cardinals at Petco Park. Other national broadcasts include three games on FS1: May 15 vs. the Cardinals, August 7 vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks and August 28 when the Padres visit the Los Angeles Angels. The Padres will also be featured on FOX Sports’ Saturday Game of the Week on June 19 when they welcome the Cincinnati Reds to San Diego.
