Padres Make Donation to Flood Relief Efforts

January 30th, 2024

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres and the Padres Foundation have made a $25,000 donation to the San Diego Foundation’s (SDF) San Diego Flood Response Fund to assist in flood relief efforts following last week’s devastating storm in San Diego.

“Our community is suffering from damage and loss caused by severe flooding throughout San Diego County,” said Padres CEO Erik Greupner.  “We felt a need to provide immediate support to San Diegans in underserved areas that were most impacted by the storm, and we encourage our fans to join in the relief efforts.   SDF will continue to work with nonprofit organizations throughout the County to quickly disperse resources to those in need.”

SDF launched the San Diego Flood Response Fund to rapidly assist the community and support nonprofit organizations responding to the unprecedented flooding in San Diego County.  The fund will receive donations and make emergency grants to nonprofit service organizations engaged in disaster response and relief.

SDF will match donations up to $100,000, and 100% of donations to the San Diego Flood Response Fund will go towards nonprofits helping San Diegans impacted by the flood.  The San Diego Flood Response Fund does not grant directly to individuals or families, but to the nonprofit organizations that serve individuals and families.
