San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies - Thursday, August 8 @ 7:10 p.m.

The Padres return home from their ninth road trip, an eight-day, 6-game trip, for their 10th homestand of the 2019 season featuring games against the Colorado Rockies and Tampa Bay Rays. Action begins tonight with a 7:10 p.m. start against the Rockies.

Thursday is the first-ever Grateful Dead Tribute Night as the Padres will honor the legendary band who helped spark a cultural shift more than 50 years ago. Elements include:

San Diego’s own Grateful Dead tribute band, Electric Waste Band featuring San Diego native and NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton, will perform pregame on the Sycuan Stage at Park at the Park.

Bill Walton will throw out the Ceremonial First pitch of the game.

In-game entertainment featuring some of the Grateful Dead’s most famous hits.

On Thursday, the Padres, in partnership with SDG&E, will continue their season-long “Going to Bat for San Diego” initiative. The partnership aims to honor the 13 local organizations dedicated to keeping San Diego safe and clean. Representatives from six local organizations will each be presented with a $10,000 check from the Padres and SDG&E during the pregame ceremonies. The benefiting organizations include: San Diego County Deputy Sheriff’s Foundation, San Diego Fire-Rescue Foundation, San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), San Diego Police Foundation, San Diego Police Officers Foundation and STAR/PAL.

Hundreds of Padres Camp participants will reunite on Thursday and take part in a pregame warning track salute.

The popular Party in the Park series returns on Friday with the final WineFest presented by Southwest Airlines of the 2019 season. Elements include:

The party begins at 4:30 p.m. with $5 red and white wine specials from local and regional wineries, including Riboli Family Wine Estates and Babe, and a live music “yacht rock” experience by Band Overboard. All wines are available exclusively with Friar Funds.

Italian Heritage Night takes place on Friday, a night to recognize the San Diego Italian community. Friday will also serve as a First Responder Salute to the State & Federal First Responder Agencies presented by BAE Systems, featuring:

Local officers, agents and firefighters representing state and federal agencies will participate in a baseline ceremony.

California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Latulippe will ring the Ceremonial Mission Bell.

The Padres and BAE Systems will present a $10,000 check to the CHP 11-99 Foundation during a Home Plate ceremony.

Eric Branco, Camp Pendleton Firefighter and Paramedic, will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch.

A flyover will be conducted by a U.S. Customs & Border Protection Blackhawk Helicopter.

Nine representatives from various state and federal agencies will take the field and greet Padres starters at their positions.

San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies - Saturday, August 10 @ 5:40 p.m.

As part of Baseball Night in San Diego, all fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a Padres Beach Bag presented by FOX Sports San Diego.

Additionally, all kids 14 and younger in attendance will receive a Topps Trading Card Pack as part of National Trading Card Day.

In community partnership with The House of the Philippines, Saturday will serve as Filipino Heritage Night at Petco Park. There will be live entertainment pregame in Park at the Park, and Filipino Heritage Night representatives will ring the Ceremonial Mission Bell and perform the National Anthem. An Operations Homefront representative will ring the Ceremonial Mission Bell.

On behalf of the Padres Foundation, Padres alumni Trevor Hoffman, Randy Jones and Tony Gwynn Jr. along with Maggie Coleman, wife of the late Jerry Coleman, will award four military scholarship recipients during a Home Plate ceremony.

Gene James, Chairman of the Board, USO Western Region, will throw the Ceremonial First Pitch.

Amy Scruggs, co-host of the national “American Dream TV” show, will perform the National Anthem and sing God Bless America during the 7th Inning Stretch.

Nine Military RBI kids will take the field to greet Padres starters as part of the “Military Take the Field.”

Sunday is also Dr. Seuss™ Day at Petco Park as the Padres celebrate the work of San Diego’s own, Theodor Seuss Geisel, one of the most widely-acclaimed children’s authors of all-time. The Padres will donate a check to USO San Diego during the pregame ceremonies for their efforts in the local military community. As part of the “Padres Thank SD” community initiative in partnership with the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation and in celebration of the franchise’s 50th anniversary as a Major League club, the Padres and USO San Diego will unveil the newly renovated Military Kids Club space at Dewey Elementary earlier that morning.

The Padres and PenFed Credit Union will host a Military Care Package Stuffing Party to support our troops overseas. Front Office volunteers and members from PenFed Credit Union will be filling 750 packages with toiletries, a PenFed shaker bottle and protein powder on the field following the conclusion of the game.

Seniors who purchase a ticket to Seniors Stroll the Bases will be invited to walk around the bases following Sunday’s game as part of Senior Citizen Appreciation Day presented by Aetna.
