Pirates offer fans tips and information on staying cool at PNC Park this weekend

Fans Are Encouraged to Stay Hydrated and Seek Cooling Areas When Needed

July 19th, 2019

The Pittsburgh Pirates take on intra-state rival the Philadelphia Phillies in a big three-game series at PNC Park this weekend. With temperatures expected to be in the 90s throughout the weekend, the Club reminds fans of the importance of proper hydration and of the many places within PNC Park where fans can stay cool while enjoying the games.

As a reminder, all fans are permitted to bring soft sided coolers, 16” x 16” x 8” or smaller, through the gates of PNC Park and those coolers are permitted to contain unopened bottles of water as well as ice for keeping drinks cold. The unopened bottles of water may not exceed 24 ounces and must be clear, plastic and disposable. In addition, PNC Park has water fountains located throughout the ballpark. A complete list of water fountain locations can be found in the “Food and Beverage” section of the MLB Ballpark App or by asking any PNC Park gameday staff member. Finally, all concession stands and beverage portables throughout the ballpark will have bottled water available this weekend and all beverage vendors will be carrying bottled water.

PNC Park has several areas where fans can enjoy a cooler environment and simply take a break from the sun and heat, such as:

• Jim Beam Left Field Lounge

• Slice on Broadway

• PNC Park Main Team Store and the Home Plate Store

• Shaded areas throughout the main and upper concourse

• Shaded areas under the Left Field Bleachers and the Clemente Wall seating areas

Gameday staff throughout PNC Park are educated on cooling measures and are always readily available to help fans on hot days. Fans are encouraged to seek out the nearest usher or other staff member to answer any questions on cooling measures at PNC Park.

The Pirates are committed to creating a safe, comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for all guests attending games at PNC Park.
