August 5th, 2022

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has activated infielder/outfielder Brad Miller from the 10-day Injured List and optioned infielder/outfielder Nick Solak to Triple-A Round Rock. Miller will be active for Friday night’s home game against the Chicago White Sox.

Miller was placed on the 10-day Injured List just prior to the start of the second ‘half’ on July 21, retroactive to July 18, with a neck strain. He played 5 games on an injury rehabilitation assignment with Round Rock (AAA) and Frisco (AA), finishing by going 2-for-7 with a home run, double, 3 RBI, 2 walks, and 3 runs over the past two nights with Frisco against Amarillo. Miller has batted .207 with 7 home runs and 29 RBI in 65 games for Texas this season, with his last game/start coming on July 17 vs. Seattle.

Solak has gone 2-for-10 in 7 games/3 starts for the Rangers since being recalled on July 21 for his second Major League stint this season (also Opening Day-May 18), including a pinch-hit home run on Monday vs. Baltimore. For the season, he has batted .208 with 3 home runs and 4 RBI in 33 games for Texas. He has spent the balance of the season at Round Rock, batting .287 with 5 home runs and 29 RBI in 39 contests.

Following today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the club’s Major League roster, along with two players (Mitch Garver and Eli White) on the 60-day Injured List.
