Seattle, Wash. — The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has agreed to terms with left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel on a minor league contract. He will be assigned to Triple-A Round Rock when he reports later in the week.

Keuchel, 34, has combined to go 2-7 with an 8.53 ERA (48 ER/50.2 IP) over 12 games/starts with Chicago-AL and Arizona this season. He began the year with the White Sox before he was designated for assignment on May 28 and given his unconditional release on May 31. He signed a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks on June 6 and made 2 starts for the team's Arizona Complex League affiliates before having his contract selected on June 26. He was designated for assignment by Arizona on July 20 and given his unconditional release this past Friday, July 22. His last MLB outing came with the D-backs on July 12 at San Francisco.

The 11-year MLB veteran has a career 101-89 record with a 3.92 ERA over 266 games/255 starts for Houston (2012-18), Atlanta (2019), Chicago-AL (2020-22), and Arizona (2022). He won the 2015 American League Cy Young Award after posting a career-high 20 wins that season, and he was twice selected to the A.L. All-Star team (2015 and 2017) while with the Astros. He is also a five-time Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner in the American League (2014-15-16-18-21).
