Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers announced the following roster moves prior to Sunday’s game against Seattle:

• Outfielder Eli White recalled from Triple-A Round Rock • Right-handed pitcher Kohei Arihara placed on 10-day Injured List with a right middle finger contusion • Catcher Jack Kruger acquired on a waiver claim from the Los Angeles Angels • Right-handed pitcher Kyle Cody transferred from the 10-day to the 60-day Injured List

White had been optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday when the Rangers activated outfielder/designated hitter Khris Davis from the 10-day injured list. The outfielder has batted .127 (7-55) with no home runs and 4 RBI in 20 games for Texas this season, making the Opening Day roster for the first time in his career.

Arihara has gone 2-3 with a 6.59 ERA (21 ER/28.2 IP) in 7 starts for Texas this season, his first career Major League action. The right-hander took no decision last night vs. Seattle (3.2 IP, 5 R-ER) after missing his scheduled start on Wednesday at Minnesota due to the finger issue.

Kruger, 26, was designated for assignment on Friday when the Angels acquired catcher Drew Butera in a trade with the Rangers. He made his Major League debut with the Angels on Thursday vs. Tampa Bay, when he caught the 9th inning and did not bat. Originally selected by the Angels in the 20th round of the 2016 June draft out of Mississippi State University, Kruger has produced a slash line of .265/.326/.357/.683 over four minor league seasons in the Angels system from 2016-19.

Cody was placed on the 10-day Injured List on April 25, retroactive to April 24. He has been diagnosed as having a right shoulder impingement.

Following today’s transactions, the Rangers remain at the 40-man limit on the Major League roster, along with six players on the 60-day Injured List.
