Rangers trade RHP Art Warren to Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash considerations

Warren had been designated for assignment when Texas signed RHP Kohei Arihara

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has acquired cash considerations from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for right-handed pitcher Art Warren.

Warren was originally acquired on a waiver claim from the Seattle Mariners on October 21, 2020, and he was designated for assignment on December 26 when the Rangers signed right-handed pitcher Kohei Arihara.

Warren spent the bulk of the abbreviated 2020 season at the Mariners' Alternate Training Site in Tacoma, and did not pitch for Seattle in his one day on the active Major League roster (August 18). He had spent his entire professional career in the Seattle organization since being selected in the 23rd round of the 2015 June draft.
