BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today announced the following roster moves:
- Reinstated right-handed pitcher John Schreiber from the 60-Day Injured List.
- Reinstated right-handed pitcher Brayan Bello from the Paternity List.
The Red Sox’ 40-man roster is now at 40.
Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.
Schreiber, 29, was placed on the Injured List on May 16 with a right teres major strain. The right-hander made six rehab appearances with Triple-A Worcester and Double-A Portland, allowing one run in 5.2 innings pitched with two hits, one walk, and six strikeouts. He has posted a 2.12 ERA (4 ER/17.0 IP) with 21 strikeouts in 18 games for the Red Sox this season. Claimed off waivers by Boston from the Detroit Tigers on February 18, 2021, the Michigan native owns a 3.25 ERA (41 ER/113.2 IP) in 111 career outings with the Tigers (2019-20) and Red Sox (2021-23).
Bello, 24, is 7-6 with a 3.60 ERA (36 ER/90.0 IP) in 16 starts this season. The right-hander started last Wednesday at Oakland, allowing six runs in 4.0 innings. Signed by the Red Sox as an international free agent on July 2, 2017, the Dominican native has posted a 4.03 ERA (66 ER/147.1 IP) in 29 career Major League games (27 starts) for Boston (2022-23).
