April 8th, 2021

BOSTON, MA -- Prior to today’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Boston Red Sox reinstated left-handed pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez from the injured list.

Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.

The Red Sox’ active major league roster is at 26.

Rodriguez, 28, was placed on the 10-day injured list with left elbow inflammation on April 1 (retroactive to March 29). After missing the entire 2020 season due to myocarditis, the left-hander made four starts in spring training and went 3-0 with a 2.63 ERA (4 ER/13.2 IP), 15 strikeouts, and two walks. In 127 career games (122 starts) with the Red Sox, Rodriguez is 51-31 with a 4.03 ERA (313 ER/699.0 IP). In 2019, he finished sixth in American League Cy Young Award voting.
