BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox today outrighted infielder José Iglesias to the Triple-A Worcester roster. In addition, the Red Sox reinstated infielder/outfielder Yairo Muñoz from the COVID-19 Related Injured List and outrighted him to the Worcester roster.
The Red Sox’ 40-man roster is at 39.
Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom made the announcement.
Iglesias, signed with the Red Sox as a free agent on September 6 and appeared in 23 games for Boston, making 14 starts at second base and three at shortstop. With the Red Sox, he hit .356 (21-for-59) with a .915 OPS, four doubles, one triple, one home run, and seven RBI.
Muñoz, 26, was placed on the COVID-19 Related Injured List on September 1. He played in five games for Boston during the regular season, appearing in three games at second base and one in left field. In 88 games with Worcester, he batted .308 (108-for-351) with a .785 OPS.
