Roster moves

July 19th, 2021

The Pirates have acquired LHP Dillon Peters from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for cash considerations and have assigned him to Triple-A Indianapolis.

The 28-year-old Peters has spent the entire 2021 season with Triple-A Salt Lake, where he went 2-2 with a 4.35 ERA (41.1ip/20er) in eight starts. He was designated for assignment by the Angels on July 14.

Originally selected by the Marlins in the 10th round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft, Peters made his Major League debut with Miami in 2017. He also pitched for the Marlins in 2018 before being traded to LAA on 11/21/18.

Peters has posted a 7-8 record in 31 big league games (24 starts).

To make room on the 40-man roster for Peters, RHP Kyle Crick has been designated for assignment.
