Rookie third baseman Royce Lewis of the Minnesota Twins has been voted the American League Rookie of the Month for September/October, and outfielder Nolan Jones of the Colorado Rockies has been voted the National League Rookie of the Month for September/October.

Lewis earned his first monthly honor and is the first Twins rookie to win since José Miranda in July of 2022. Overall, this is the sixth time a Twins rookie has won (seventh occurance) with Lewis joining Francisco Liriano (June and July 2006); Boof Bonser (September 2006); Ben Revere (June 2011); and Miguel Sano (August 2015).

Jones earned his first monthly honor and became the first Rockies player to win since Antonio Senzatela in April of 2017. Overall it is the eighth recognition for a Rockies rookie with Jones joining Jason Jennings (August 2002); Clint Barmes (April 2005); Garrett Atkins (June 2005); Troy Tulowitzki (August 2007), Ian Stewart (July 2008); and Trevor Story (April 2016).

• The 24-year-old hit .313 with six home runs, 23 RBI, two doubles, 11 walks, 15 runs scored, a .410 on-base percentage and a .612 slugging
percentage in 18 games last month.
• The California native led AL Rookies in RBI; ranked second in slugging; tied for second in home runs; ranked third in batting average and OPS (1.022); and fourth in total bases (41) and on-base percentage.
• The first overall selection of the 2017 Draft hit a grand slam on September 4th at Cleveland and September 15th at Chicago, finishing the year with four grand slams. His four grand slams as a rookie this season are tied for the most-ever by a rookie in a single season and his five career grand slams surpassed Alex Rodriguez for the most grand slams by a rookie in MLB history.
• The slugger finished with a career-high six RBI on September 4th in the Twins’ 20-6 triumph. Across September 3rd-4th, Lewis went 6-for-9 (.667) with two homers, 10 RBI and four runs. His 10 RBI are tied with Nelson Cruz, Glenn Adams, Joe Cronin, and Buddy Myer for the most in two-game span in Twins’ history.
• Lewis reached in 10 straight games from September 1st-11th, marking the second longest on-base streak of his career. Overall, he reached safely in 17 of his 18 games with hits in 14 of the contests.

• The 25-year-old hit .349 (37-for-106) with seven home runs, 23 RBI, five doubles, three triples, 21 walks, 23 runs scored, a .461 on-base percentage and a .651 slugging percentage in 29 games.
• The Pennsylvania native led Major League rookies in on-base percentage, slugging, OPS (1.112), hits (37) and total bases (69); tied for the lead in RBI and runs scored; ranked second in walks and extra-base hits (15); and third in batting average.
• On Sunday against Minnesota, Jones became the 19th player across Baseball to reach the 20/20 mark this season, hitting a solo home run in the fourth inning and stealing second base in the ninth inning. He became the first Rockies rookie to reach 20/20 and the 15th Rockies player overall to go 20/20. 19 different players in MLB put together 20/20 seasons this year tie a record set in 1999.
• Overall, Jones joined Corbin Carroll and Anthony Volpe as the only rookies in Baseball to reach 20/20 this year, marking the first time three rookies reached 20/20 in the same season. It is just the third time in MLB history that multiple rookies reached 20/20 in a single year with 2023 joining 1987 (Ellis Burks and Devon White) and 2022 (Julio Rodríguez and Bobby Witt Jr.).
• The second-round selection in the 2016 Draft finished his year on a career-high nine-game hitting streak and reached in a career-high 18 straight games from September 13th through the end of the year. Over the 18-game stretch he boasted a .538 on-base percentage with 25 hits, 17 walks and one hit-by-pitch.
