Yankees announce start times and home team designations for this weekend's doubleheaders vs. the New York Mets at Yankee Stadium

Today the Yankees announced the following game times and home team designations for the doubleheaders this weekend vs. the New York Mets at Yankee Stadium.

The doubleheader on Friday, August 28, is scheduled to begin at 4:05 p.m. with Game 2 starting approximately 30-45 minutes after the last out of Game 1. The Yankees will be the home team for Game 1 (the originally scheduled game) and the Mets will be the “home team” for Game 2 (rescheduled from Friday, August 21). Both games will be seven-inning regulation games.

First pitch for Saturday, August 29, is set for 1:05 p.m. as originally scheduled.

The doubleheader on Sunday, August 30, is scheduled to start at 1:05 p.m. with Game 2 starting approximately 30-45 minutes after the last out of Game 1. The Yankees will be the home team for Game 1 (the originally scheduled game) and the Mets will be the “home team” for Game 2 (rescheduled from Saturday, August 22). Both games will be seven-inning regulation games.

On Friday, the Yankees and Mets will celebrate Jackie Robinson Day as all uniformed personnel will wear the #42 for Game 2 of their doubleheader. Both teams will also wear commemorative hats and socks for both games.

All five games this weekend will be broadcast on the YES Network, WFAN and WADO.

While the Yankees will bat first in Game 2 of both doubleheaders this weekend, according to the Official Baseball Rule Book “the home team is the team whose grounds the game is played on,” thus both games are considered home games for all statistical purposes per the Elias Sports Bureau.
