August 2nd, 2021

HOUSTON, TX – The Astros Golf Foundation announced today that Texas Children’s Hospital has agreed to a three-year commitment to serve as a Community-Partner sponsor for the Houston Open. The agreement starts with the 2021 Houston Open, scheduled for the week of November 8-14 at Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston. Texas Children’s becomes the ninth Community Partner for the Houston Open.

“We are excited to have Texas Children’s Hospital as a new partner for the Houston Open,” said Jim Crane, Houston Astros Owner and Chairman. “Texas Children’s is a great Houston community leader and one of the foremost children’s hospitals in the world. Aligning their values with the efforts of our Astros Golf Foundation and the Houston Open provides a special opportunity for both of us to continue to give back to Houston.”

As part of their multi-faceted sponsorship agreement, Texas Children’s will host a special private luncheon for patients, their families and employees on the 18th green at Memorial Park during the Wednesday Pro Am; serve as Gate Day Sponsor on Saturday, Nov. 13, which includes branding and signage; serve as sponsor of the Houston Open Family Fun Zone, which will include games, activities and more geared toward children as our goal is to create the best fan experience.

“All of us at Texas Children’s are honored and excited to be a part of the Houston Open,” said Mark A. Wallace, Texas Children’s President and CEO. “We are so proud of our partnership with the Astros Golf Foundation, and thank Jim and his phenomenal team for putting together a wonderful event to keep this historic tradition alive for our community.”

ABOUT THE ASTROS GOLF FOUNDATION

The 2021 Houston Open will be the third hosted and operated by the Astros Golf Foundation, which was formed in 2018 after Jim Crane agreed to take control of the long-standing tournament. The Astros Golf Foundation was established with three key objectives: to ensure that the PGA TOUR event remains in Houston; to bring the tournament back to its glory and into the heart of the city; to provide much-needed resources and funds to the citizens and community of Houston through park improvements, charitable fundraising and investing in youth programs as a part of the larger Astros Foundation.
