THE MARLINS ARE TEALING BACK TIME WITH SEASON-LONG PLANS TO CELEBRATE THE FRANCHISE’S 30TH ANNIVERSARY WITH FLASHBACK FRIDAYS

March 24th, 2023

MIAMIFlashback Fridays will mix the old with the new as the Miami Marlins organization announces further details regarding the season-long plans to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary, beginning on March 31 vs. the New York Mets.

The Marlins will teal back time with throwback Florida Marlins uniforms – same as the 1993 team in the organization’s inaugural season – for Friday home games this season (excluding June 2 – Lou Gehrig Day, and September 15 – Roberto Clemente Day). The throwback uniform will consist of the teal hats, featuring a 30th anniversary logo patch on the side, and the home white jerseys and pants with teal pinstripes.

Every Marlins home Friday game will be themed Flashback Friday and feature special appearances from former players, coaches, and other fan favorites. Additional elements on Flashback Fridays include a Marlins Museum presented by Fanatics. Fans can visit the display in the left field concourse that celebrates memorable moments in the organization’s history, including player and team accomplishments.

“The 2023 season represents a major milestone for our Franchise, and we are excited to celebrate the incredible history of this club and connecting it with the exciting future that lays ahead,” said Tiago Pinto, Marlins Vice President of Marketing. “The celebration of the 30th anniversary will be season-long, featuring the return of former players, incredible giveaways, and the beloved teal pinstripe uniforms.”

Sticking with the 1990s, the Marlins are launching a pin program that will bring back one of the more popular giveaway items from that decade. Home Run Rewards Cardholders will have exclusive access to a Flashback Friday pin program, with a new pin dropping for every Friday home game! The first 100 cardholders who show up to the Home Run Rewards kiosk at Section 15 on the Promenade Level will leave with the exclusive pin. Additionally, the Home Run Rewards kiosk will include a pin trading program, with a corkboard of various MLB-themed pins available for trade.

The Marlins begin the 2023 season at home against the New York Mets at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, March 30. Fans should secure their seats today at Marlins.com/Tickets so they don’t miss out on the Opening Day festivities.
