Pirates name Tony Leo assistant athletic trainer

The Pittsburgh Pirates today named Tony Leo Major League Assistant Athletic Trainer.

Leo most recently served as the Infection Control Prevention Coordinator for the Oakland Athletics during the 2020 season.

Prior to 2020, Leo spent 23 seasons in the Twins organization, most recently as the Head Athletic Trainer at the Major League level in 2018-19. He also served on the big league staff as the Assistant Athletic trainer from 2011-17 after spending six seasons at the Triple-A level. A graduate of Bowling Green University, Leo began his career with the GCL Twins in 1997.
