MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they are inviting fans to take batting practice on the diamond at Target Field, joined by franchise icons Rod Carew, Bert Blyleven, Tony Oliva and Tom Kelly during one of two limited-capacity sessions on Saturday, June 5. Tickets for the Twins’ “Swing for the Kids” fantasy batting practice are available now at twinsbaseball.com/swingforthekids, with proceeds benefiting the Minnesota Twins Community Fund in its efforts to support kids and families throughout Twins Territory.

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play ball at Target Field is open to fans ages 13 and over, and will be spaced over two, separate 90-minute sessions (3:00 to 4:30 p.m. or 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.). Each session will feature five rotating groups of six participants (30 total), moving between live hitting, playing the infield, shagging in the outfield, throwing in the Twins’ bullpen and waiting “on deck” in the Twins’ dugout – all while receiving instruction from Baseball Hall-of-Famers Carew (both sessions) and Blyleven (first session), and Twins Hall-of-Famers Kelly (first session) and Oliva (second session). The $500 ticket price ($400 of which is a tax-deductible donation) also includes a customized, official Twins jersey.

“We’re thrilled to offer our fans this amazing opportunity to get the true ‘big league’ experience with Twins legends at Target Field,” said Stephanie Johnson, Executive Director of the Twins Community Fund. “More importantly, we’re excited to raise funds that will help kids throughout Twins Territory make their own safe and successful return to youth ballfields this summer, and to ensure that every kid who wants to play ball has the resources to do so.”

The Twins’ “Swing for the Kids” fantasy batting practice will be conducted according to all Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) guidelines in place at the time of the event.
