MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have hired Nick Paparesta as the club’s head athletic trainer.

Paparesta spent the last 12 seasons as Head Athletic Trainer for the Oakland Athletics. Prior to his tenure with Oakland, he served three seasons as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Tampa Bay Rays from 2008-10. The North Fort Myers, Florida native spent five years in the Rays organization, originally joining Tampa Bay in 2006 as minor league head athletic trainer and rehabilitation coordinator. Prior to his time with the Rays, Paparesta worked in the Cleveland Guardians organization for 11 seasons, including four years with Triple-A Buffalo.

In both 2009 (Tampa Bay) and 2018 (Oakland), Paparesta was a member of the staffs that were recognized as the “Major League Athletic Training Staff of the Year.” He was selected by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS) to serve as the head athletic trainer for the American League team at the 2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Miami, Florida. He is a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio and holds certifications from the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and the National Strength and Condition Association (NSCA).
