April 21st, 2022

The Washington Nationals selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Erasmo Ramírez from Triple-A Rochester and placed right-handed pitcher Hunter Harvey on the 10-day Injured List with a right pronator strain on Thursday. To make room on the 40-man roster, the Nationals transferred infielder/outfielder Ehire Adrianza to the 60-day Injured List. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.

Ramírez, 31, tossed scoreless relief in five appearances for Triple-A Rochester this season. He struck out 12 batters, allowed four hits and issued just one walk in 7.0 innings pitched. He threw 2.0 innings of relief on two occasions, including his most recent outing on April 16 vs. Buffalo (TOR) when he struck out three batters and did not allow a hit.

A veteran of 10 Major League seasons, Ramirez has pitched to a 4.37 ERA in 216 games (92 starts) for the Detroit Tigers (2021), New York Mets (2020), Boston Red Sox (2019), Seattle Mariners (2012-14, 2017-18) and Tampa Bay Rays (2015-17).

Harvey, 27, appeared in four games for the Nationals, tossing scoreless relief across 2.2 innings pitched.
