What to Know for Toyota Phillies Alumni Weekend, 8/2-4, Phillies vs. White Sox Series

Celebrate the induction of Bobby Abreu into the Phillies Wall of Fame & 10th Anniversary of the 2009 NL Champion Phillies

The 2009 National League Champion Phillies, along with Wall of Famers and Hall of Famers, are returning to Citizens Bank Park for Toyota Phillies Alumni Weekend, August 2-4, during the series against the Chicago White Sox. Here’s a list of what’s planned including special pregame tributes, ceremonial first pitches by Bobby Abreu and Pedro Martínez, and photo opportunities with former Phillies players. 1. On Friday, the Phillies are kicking off Toyota Alumni Weekend with a special Legends Theme Night T-shirt commemorating the careers of Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley. This special offer is available at phillies.com/themenights. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

2. Gates open at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday for all of the festivities surrounding Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame Night. In addition to former Phillie Bobby Abreu being inducted into the Wall of Fame, 2009 NL Champions will take part in a Home Run Derby Batting Challenge before the 7:05 p.m. game.

· At 6:00 p.m., cheer on members of the 2009 NL Champion Phillies as they swing for the fences during a Home Run Derby Batting Challenge in The Yard.

· From 5:30-6:45 p.m., meet 1993 National League Champion Mickey Morandini during Bud & Burger Night at Boardwalk Eats in the Left Field Plaza. Plus, enjoy specials on Budweiser aluminum bottles and burgers.

· Then at 6:45 p.m., be in your seats as Bobby Abreu is inducted into the Toyota Phillies Wall of Fame. Taking part will be Phillies Wall of Famers and Hall of Famers, as well as surprise guests. Following his induction, Abreu will throw out a ceremonial first pitch before taking a Toyota victory lap around the warning track. Plus, all fans will receive a Toyota Bobby Abreu Wall of Fame Print.

3. Get to the ballpark early for Toyota Phillies Alumni Day featuring autograph and photo opportunities, as well as the 10**th Anniversary Celebration of the 2009 NL Champion Phillies at Sunday’s 1:05 p.m. game. Plus, all fans will receive a Toyota 2009 NL Champs Photo Card Pack.**

· At 11:15 a.m., fans are invited to watch PhanaVision, which will preview the taping of Sunday’s NBC Sports Philadelphia Toyota Alumni Day pregame show, featuring players from the 2009 NL Champion Phillies as they are interviewed from the field. The pregame show will air on NBC Sports Philadelphia at noon. 

· From 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m., there will be alumni autograph and photo opportunities around the ballpark.

· At 12:30 p.m., be in your seats as more than two dozen 2009 NL Champion Phillies, listed here, will be recognized on the field. Plus, Pedro Martínez will make his first appearance on the mound since 2009 as he has the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch.

4. Bid on signed memorabilia from the 2009 NL champs during a Phillies Charities, Inc. Auction via the MLB Ballpark App until August 5. Items will be on display at the First Base Plaza throughout the weekend, and include those autographed by Cole Hamels, Ryan Howard, Cliff Lee, Brad Lidge, Charlie Manuel, Carlos Ruiz, Chase Utley, Shane Victorino and more.

5. Thanks to Toyota, several charity groups will be recognized throughout Toyota Phillies Alumni Weekend for the work they do in the community including Special Olympics Montgomery County (Friday), Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House and Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region (Satur**day) and Variety – The Children’s Charity (Sunday).**

· In addition to representing Toyota on the field for ceremonial first pitches and 3rd-inning base changes, the various charity groups will have the chance of watching the games from a suite or participating in a pregame Coaches Clinic, courtesy of Toyota.

Other need-to-know information:

· Gate Openings: On August 3, all gates open at 5:05 p.m. On August 2 and August 4, the main gates open 1½ hours prior to game time, with the Left Field Gate/Ashburn Alley and a portion of the Third Base Gate granting access to Pass and Stow open 2 hours before the game.

· Parking Lot Openings: All parking lots open 5 hours prior to game time.

· Broadcast Information: The game on August 2 will air on NBC10; games on August 3-4 will be broadcast on NBCSP. All games will be available via live stream for authenticated subscribers on NBC Sports Philadelphia’s MyTeams app, as well as broadcast on WIP (94.1 FM) and WTTM (1680 AM - Spanish).
