White Sox acquire pitcher Luis Patiño from Tampa Bay in exchange for cash considerations

The Chicago White Sox have acquired right-handed pitcher Luis Patiño from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for cash considerations.
 
Patiño, 23, is 3-4 with a 6.75 ERA (34 ER/45.1 IP) and 38 strikeouts over 27 games (six starts) with Class AAA Durham this season. He has also made two relief appearances with Tampa Bay.
 
Patiño, 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, has gone 7-5 with a 5.23 ERA (69 ER/118.2 IP) and 111 strikeouts in 38 career games (22 starts) over parts of four major-league seasons with San Diego (2020) and Tampa Bay (2021-23).
 
The Barranquilla, Colombia, native originally was signed by the Padres as an international free agent on July 2, 2016. He was traded to the Rays as part of a five-player deal on December 29, 2020 that sent left-hander Blake Snell to San Diego.
