CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms on a two-year, $15-million contract with right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde (“feh-DEE”) and designated right-hander Yohan Ramírez for assignment.

Fedde, 30, was named the Most Valuable Player and the winner of the Choi Dong-won Award (best pitcher) of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) in 2023 after going 20-6 with a 2.00 ERA (40 ER/180.1 IP), 35 walks (1.7 per 9.0 IP), 209 strikeouts (10.4 per 9.0 IP), nine home runs allowed and a 0.95 WHIP over 30 starts with the NC Dinos.

He led the KBO in wins, ERA and strikeouts to become the first foreign-born pitcher to win the pitching Triple Crown, and just the fourth pitcher in league history to accomplish that feat      .

Fedde, 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, went 21-33 with a 5.41 ERA (273 ER/454.1 IP) and 352 strikeouts in 102 games (88 starts) over six major-league seasons (2017-22), all with Washington. He was a member of the Nationals 2019 World Series championship club, but did not pitch in the postseason.

Fedde originally was selected by Washington in the first round (18th overall) of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Ramírez, 28, appeared in five games with the White Sox last season after being claimed off waivers from Pittsburgh on September 5, allowing four runs on five hits over 4.0 IP (9.00 ERA).

The White Sox 40-man roster remains at 40.
