White Sox announce 2023 regular season schedule

The Chicago White Sox and Major League Baseball today announced the club’s 2023 regular-season schedule, with Opening Day for the White Sox taking place on Thursday, March 30 at Houston.

The season opener is part of a four-game road series against the Astros through Sunday, April 2. The Sox host San Francisco in the home opener at Guaranteed Rate Field on Monday, April 3. Following an off day on April 4, Chicago concludes the interleague series with the Giants April 5-6 before taking a six-game trip to Pittsburgh (April 7-9) and Minnesota (April 10-12).

The annual Wintrust Crosstown Series vs. the Chicago Cubs includes a pair of two-game matchups: July 25-26 at Guaranteed Rate Field (Tuesday/Wednesday) and August 15-16 at Wrigley Field (Tuesday/Wednesday).

For the first time in Major League Baseball history, all 30 clubs will play one another starting with the 2023 regular season. Below is additional information regarding the White Sox slate next season under the new scheduling format:

  • 52 total games against American League Central teams Cleveland, Detroit, Kansas City and Minnesota (13 games vs. each);
  • 31 total games vs. AL East opponents: seven vs. Tampa Bay, and six each vs. Baltimore, Boston, the Yankees and Toronto;
  • 33 total games vs. AL West clubs: seven each vs. Houston, the Angels and Oakland, and six each vs. Seattle and Texas;
  • 46 interleague games (23 at home; 23 on the road);
  • Play host to the following National League teams: San Francisco (April 3, 5-6), Philadelphia (April 17-19), Miami (June 9-11), St. Louis (July 7-9), the Cubs (July 25-26), Milwaukee (August 11-13), Arizona (September 25-27) and San Diego (September 29-October 1);
  • Travel to the following NL clubs: Pittsburgh (April 7-9), Cincinnati (May 5-7), the Dodgers (June 13-15), Atlanta (July 14-16), the Mets (July 18-20), the Cubs (August 15-16), Colorado (August 18-20) and Washington (September 18-20);
  • Conclude the regular season hosting the Padres;
  • Play host to the Angels on Memorial Day (May 29), the Blue Jays on Independence Day, and off on Labor Day (September 4);
  • All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 11 at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

The 2023 schedule is subject to change. Finalized game times and a complete broadcast schedule will be released prior to next season.
