White Sox announce sellout of 'FANtastic Faces' fan cutouts

Opening Series Initiative Raises More than $55,000 for Chicago White Sox Charities

July 10th, 2020

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have sold out of FANtastic Faces, the cardboard cutouts of fans’ likenesses that will be displayed at Guaranteed Rate Field during the team’s opening homestand.

With more than 1,500 FANtastic Faces set to fill ballpark seats for the opening three-game series vs. Minnesota scheduled to begin on Friday, July 24, the initiative raised more than $55,000 in net proceeds for Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC).

“White Sox Opening Day is always an important holiday on the calendar for our entire White Sox family,” said Christine O’Reilly, White Sox vice president of community relations and CWSC executive director. “We are so glad FANtastic Faces has allowed so many members of our White Sox fan family to keep meaningful Opening Day traditions alive, memorialize loved ones and even mark first games for some of our youngest fans. The support will help provide much-needed resources to the non-profits and agencies we serve through White Sox Charities.”

Purchasers will be notified when their personal cutout is authenticated and ready for pickup following its display at the ballpark.

Throughout the 2020 season, fans will have opportunities to support CWSC, which provides annual financial, in-kind and emotional support to hundreds of Chicago-based organizations. From a virtual SoxSplit 50/50, presented by Wintrust, for all 60 games, to online sales of authenticated, game-used equipment, memorabilia and more, fans are encouraged to show their support and continue connecting with the team and ballpark from home.
