White Sox announce two roster moves

CHICAGO - Prior to tonight’s game vs. the Boston Red Sox, the Chicago White Sox made the following two roster moves:

  • Recalled from Class AAA Charlotte (1): RHP Jonathan Cannon;
  • Designated for Assignment (1): RHP Jake Woodford.

Cannon, 23, is 2-3 with a 5.50 ERA (23 ER/37.2 IP) and 35 strikeouts over eight starts with Charlotte this season. He has made three starts with the White Sox, going 0-1 with a 7.24 ERA (11 ER/13.2 IP) and 13 strikeouts. Cannon made his major-league debut in Game 1 of a doubleheader on April 17 vs. Kansas City.

Woodford, 27, has gone 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA (10 ER/8.1 IP) and seven strikeouts over two starts with Chicago in 2024.

Following the moves, the White Sox 40-man roster decreases to 39.
