CHICAGO – Following tonight’s game vs. the Texas Rangers, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher José Ruiz to Class AAA Charlotte.

Ruiz, 24, is 1-2 with a 5.24 ERA (20 ER/34.1 IP), 32 strikeouts and one hold in 35 relief appearances over five stints with the White Sox this season.

The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to tomorrow’s series finale vs. the Rangers.
