CHICAGO- Prior to tonight’s game vs. Boston, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Joe Kelly on the 15-day injured list with a strained left hamstring and recalled left-hander Tanner Banks from Class AAA Charlotte.

Banks owns a 3.00 ERA (6 ER/18.0 IP) with 13 strikeouts in 11 relief appearances with the White Sox this season. He held opponents scoreless in 12.2 IP over his first seven outings from April 10-30. Banks did not make an appearance with Charlotte since being optioned on Sunday.

Kelly left last night’s game in the eighth inning with hamstring tightness after striking out the first two hitters. He is 0-1 with a 9.53 ERA (6 ER/5.2 IP), six holds and eight strikeouts in seven relief appearances in 2022. Kelly has recorded four holds with six strikeouts in 3.2 scoreless IP over his last four appearances.
