CLEVELAND – Prior to today’s series opener at Cleveland, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher John Brebbia on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to April 6) with a right calf strain and recalled left-handed pitcher Jared Shuster from Class AAA Charlotte.

Shuster, 25, made one start with Charlotte this season. He was acquired from Atlanta with right-handers Michael Soroka and Riley Gowens and infielders Nicky Lopez and Braden Shewmake in exchange for left-hander Aaron Bummer on November 16, 2023. Shuster split the 2023 season between Atlanta and Class AAA Gwinnett, and went 4-3 with a 5.81 ERA (34 ER/52.2 IP) and 30 strikeouts in 11 starts with the Braves.

Brebbia, who left Friday night’s game at Kansas City in the sixth inning, has worked 2.2 scoreless IP over four relief appearances this season.
