CHICAGO – As large crowds are expected for the remainder of the season, the Chicago White Sox are offering updated information, including parking updates, and tips to fans for an enjoyable experience at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Gate Opening Times and Ballpark Entry
- Gates open 90 minutes before the games. Fans are encouraged to enter the ballpark at least 30 minutes before scheduled first pitch to avoid the rush of fans closer to game time.
- Fans arriving from the north side of the ballpark, including by Uber or public transportation, should use Gate 5 as the fastest way to enter the ballpark.
- Fans arriving from the south side of the ballpark should enter through Gate 2 (right field corner) or Gate 3 (first base side).
- Fans visiting the Patio should enter through Gate 1.
- Fans with tickets for a Diamond Suite or the Guaranteed Rate Club should enter the ballpark through Gate 4 elevators (home plate). Fans sitting in the Wintrust Scout Seats should enter through the Huntington Bank Stadium Club entrance near Gate 2.
- All White Sox tickets are mobile. Fans are strongly encouraged to have their game tickets downloaded onto their smartphone in advance through the MLB Ballpark, StubHub or Ticketmaster apps, or online through the White Sox Account Manager page (whitesox.com/myaccount under “Account Manager”).

Public Transportation
- The White Sox recommend that fans utilize public transportation. The CTA Red Line stops near the ballpark at the Sox-35th Street station, and the Green Line is just two blocks farther east at the 35th Street station.
- A Metra stop at 35th Street is conveniently located just east of the Dan Ryan Expressway, along the Rock Island line. For the most up-to-date game day service information, including weekend inbound train schedules to meet the various scheduled first pitch start times, check metrarail.com.
Uber and Other Rideshare Services
- Starting Friday, July 30, fans taking Uber to a White Sox game receive a $5 voucher to use at concession stands that day by presenting their Uber receipt at the Gate 5 Box Office, Window 41. Fans arriving together in an Uber should stay together and pick up the voucher prior to entering the ballpark. Each rider taking Uber will receive a voucher.
- Fans are encouraged to take an Uber or rideshare service to Guaranteed Rate Field.
- The Uber Lot is located in Lot A on the Wentworth Avenue side for pick-up and drop-off. The lot will be open until one hour after the conclusion of the home games.
- Fans arriving by Uber should enter and exit the ballpark through Gate 5.
Parking Information
- With large crowds expected for the remainder of the season, the White Sox have updated their parking policies.
- Parking lots located on the north side of the ballpark – Lots A, B, C – will be reserved for all fans holding prepaid parking passes (red or green).
- Limited day-of-game parking will be available in the credit card only lots located on the south side of the ballpark – Lots E, F, L.
- Lot B at Gate 5 of the ballpark is designated for cars displaying state-issued disability placards or license plates. In addition, any guests in need of assistance will be allowed by ballpark personnel to be dropped off and/or picked up in Lot B. Fans will have access to Lot B and Gate 5 (located north of the ballpark; across 35th Street) via 33rd Street.
- Parking lots open two hours before the start of every game. Fans holding mobile prepaid parking passes should display the coupons prominently as they approach the parking lots.
- Fans are strongly encouraged to have their parking coupons downloaded onto their smartphones to avoid delays.
- Parking is available for $25 every day and for $10 on Coca-Cola Family Sundays.
- Fans should visit whitesox.com/parking for more information about parking and for directions to their designated parking lot.
- Day-of-game credit card customers traveling from the north should proceed to 35th Street or 39th Street exit and follow signs to "Sox Parking." Day-of-game credit card customers traveling from the south should proceed to 35th Street exit.
- Fans holding prepaid parking passes traveling from the north exit at 31st Street and fans who are traveling from the south exit at 35th Street should follow signs for "Red Coupons.”
- Fans should expect day-of-game parking purchases to be conducted only with official staff upon entry into the lot and NOT prior to entry outside of any parking lot.
- Fans arriving after the gates open or closer to the start of the game are encouraged to proceed directly to the overflow lot located at IIT (31st Street and State Street). Free shuttle service will be available from the overflow lot.
- Tailgating is permitted in parking lots except Lots C and D. Fans who tailgate must set up in their respective parking space and avoid blocking pathways and traffic.
Additional Fan Information
- Additional concession locations have been added throughout the concourse levels. Food and drinks are available through the mobile ordering feature in the MLB Ballpark app. Fans have the option for in-seat delivery or mobile order “express” pickup at the concessions stand. Fans always are able to walk up to the counter to purchase as well.
- Bags will not be allowed into the ballpark. Exceptions will be made for medical bags, small clutch purses (under 9” x 5” in size) and diaper bags when an infant is present.
- Fans are highly encouraged to arrive early and enter the ballpark early to avoid the rush closer to game time.
