PITTSBURGH – The Chicago White Sox have traded right-handed pitcher José Ruiz to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for cash considerations.

Ruiz, 28, was designated for assignment by the White Sox on Friday. He has allowed nine runs on eight hits with four walks and three strikeouts over four relief appearances (3.2 IP) this season, his sixth with Chicago.
