Former Yankees outfielder, Monument Park inductee and current YES Network broadcaster Paul O’Neill will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Yankee Stadium will also feature guest performer DJay Jung, who will play music prior to the game and during inning breaks. Broadway performer Joey Sorge from MJ The Musical will sing “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch.

The Yankees will face Toronto in their home opener for the fourth time in franchise history (also 2021, ’15 and ’08), and it will mark the eighth time in the last 10 seasons (since 2015) that the Yankees’ home opener will be against an AL East team. The Yankees own an 81-39-1 all-time record in home openers and have won six of the last seven since 2017.

The Yankees’ homestand continues Saturday, April 6, at 7:05 p.m., and Sunday, April 7, at 1:35 p.m. with games against Toronto, followed by a three-game series from Monday, April 8, through Wednesday, April 10, against the Miami Marlins.

The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Cynthia Simmons, Deputy Director of Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland, who has served as a Chair and Subject Matter Expert on NASA Standing Review Boards and has provided engineering support for more than 20 launches for NASA, the Department of Defense, commercial ventures and science missions. Simmons will be joined on the field by high-achieving science students from Bronx Community School District 9, who will participate in an on-field ceremony to announce the District 9 Science Fair, which will take place at the Stadium later this year.

Gates for the final five games of the homestand will open 90 minutes before the scheduled first pitch.
