Rangers to host Pirates & Blue Jays during 5-game homestand, April 30-May 5

April 29th, 2019

Arlington, Texas — The Texas Rangers return to Globe Life Park in Arlington on Tuesday, April 30, opening a five game homestand.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are in town for a quick, two game series on Tuesday, April 30 at 7:05 p.m. and Wednesday, May 1 at 1:05 p.m.

On Wednesday, the Texas Rangers, Fort Worth Zoo, and Texas Live! will present Wildlife Education Day. A pregame wildlife presentation from the Fort Worth Zoo Animal Outreach team will be hosted at the Texas Live! Arlington Backyard from 11:00-11:45 a.m. All fans with tickets to Wednesday’s game are invited to attend the presentation.

The homestand resumes on Friday, May 3 with a 7:05 p.m. game against the Blue Jays. The teams will square off again at 7:05 on Saturday, May 4 before the series concludes with a 2:05 p.m. matchup on Sunday, May 5.

T-Mobile Friday Fireworks, set to a movie theme, will follow Friday’s game.

On Saturday, the first 15,000 fans will receive a Coca-Cola/Kroger “The Catch” Gary Matthews Jr. Bobblehead.

Matthews robbed Houston Astros first baseman Jake Lamb of a homerun with a leaping catch at the centerfield wall in the eighth inning of a July 1, 2006 game in Arlington. The bobblehead is the second of nine Great Moments bobbleheads the Rangers are giving away this year to commemorate the final season at Globe Life Park in Arlington.

Saturday also marks Bark at the Park, presented by Nylabone and Pets Add Life (PAL). Fans can catch the game with their furry friends, and dogs dressed in the best Rangers gear can participate in a pregame parade around the warning track. Tickets must be purchased in advance at texasrangers.com/barkatthepark and will be available until Thursday, May2 at 7:00 p.m.

The series concludes Sunday, with a $1 Blue Bell Ice Cream Sunday, as fans 13 and younger can enjoy $1 ice cream.

A For King & Country Postgame Concert presented by Buckner International will follow Sunday’s game. Concert admission is included with the purchase of tickets for that day’s game. Field passes for closer access to the show may be purchased for $12 at texasrangers.com/concerts.

Tickets can be purchased at texasrangers.com, by calling 972.RANGERS, and at the Globe Life Park in Arlington ticket office.
