BOSTON, MA — The Boston Red Sox today acquired minor league outfielder Isaiah Jackson from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for infielder Vaughn Grissom. Boston's 40-man roster is now at 39.
Jackson, 21, appeared in 10 games for High-A Tri-City during his 2025 professional debut, starting nine games in center field and hitting .219 (7-for-32) with one home run and four RBI. The left-handed hitter was selected by Los Angeles in the eighth round of the 2025-First Year Player Draft out of Arizona State University, where he played each of the last three seasons (2023-25). In the summer of 2024, the Arizona native played for the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League.
Grissom, 24, played in 96 games for Triple-A Worcester in 2025, hitting .270 (100-for-370) with 24 doubles, 13 home runs, 48 RBI, and 69 runs scored. Originally selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 11th round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, the Florida native has hit .255 (82-for-321) with 12 doubles, one triple, five home runs, and 33 RBI in 95 career Major League games with the Braves (2022-23) and Red Sox (2024). He was acquired by Boston in a trade with Atlanta on December 30, 2023.
