Red Sox announce roster moves

Prior to today’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Boston Red Sox made the following roster moves:

· Catcher Juan Centeno and outfielder Gorkys Hernández were reassigned to Minor League camp. Both players will remain with the Major League club through the end of Spring Training.

· Left-handed pitcher Bobby Poyner and right-handed pitcher Marcus Walden were optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket.

· Left-handed pitcher Darwinzon Hernandez was optioned to Double-A Portland.

President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski made the announcement.

With these moves, the Red Sox now have 30 players in big league camp, all of whom are on the club’s 40-man roster.
