Red Sox Reinstate RHP Tyron Guerrero from 15-Day IL

BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox today reinstated right-handed pitcher Tyron Guerrero from the 15-Day Injured List. To make room, Boston optioned right-handed pitcher Wyatt Olds to Triple-A Worcester.

Guerrero, 35, was placed on the 15-Day Injured List on September 1 with right shoulder inflammation. The right-hander has recorded a 3.26 ERA (14 ER/38.2 IP) with 36 strikeouts in 38 games for Boston this season. He has also posted a 0.92 ERA (2 ER/19.2 IP) with 22 strikeouts in 15 relief outings for Triple-A Worcester this year. Originally signed as an international free agent by the San Diego Padres in May 2010, the Colombia native owns a 5.10 ERA (82 ER/144.2 IP) with 147 strikeouts in 151 career Major League games with the Padres (2016), Miami Marlins (2018-19), and Red Sox (2026).

Olds, 27, has posted a 1.20 ERA (2 ER/15.0 IP) with 20 strikeouts in 13 relief outings for Boston this season, his Major League debut. The right-hander has also posted a 5.33 ERA (30 ER/50.2 IP) with 74 strikeouts in 39 games this year for Worcester. Selected by the Red Sox in the seventh round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Oklahoma native owns a 5.88 ERA (254 ER/389.0 IP) with 489 strikeouts in 185 career minor league games (42 starts).
