RHP Paul Blackburn recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Oakland A’s recalled right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn from Triple-A Las Vegas. To make room on the 25-man roster, right-handed pitcher Tanner Anderson has been optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Blackburn, 25, served as the 26th man for the A’s doubleheader on June 8 at Texas, allowing five runs in 3.0 innings. With Las Vegas, he was named a Pacific Coast League All Star and is 7-1 with a 5.26 ERA (46 ER, 78.2 IP) with 60 strikeouts in 15 starts for the Aviators. For his career, Blackburn is 5-5 with a 4.84 ERA in 17 starts at the Major League level over parts of three seasons with Oakland (2017-present).

Anderson, 26, was 0-3 with a 6.04 ERA (15 ER, 22.1 IP) with 18 strikeouts in five starts with Oakland this season. With Triple-A Las Vegas, he was 4-4 with a 6.26 ERA (38 ER, 54.2 IP) with 37 strikeouts in 11 games, including 10 starts with the Aviators this season.
