Colorado Rockies recall right-handed pitchers Yency Almonte, DJ Johnson from Triple-A Albuquerque

Left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson optioned to Triple-A, left-hander Harrison Musgrave placed on 10-day injured list with left elbow flexor strain

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitchers Yency Almonte and DJ Johnson from Triple-A Albuquerque, and have optioned left-handed pitcher Tyler Anderson to Triple-A. Additionally, they have placed left-handed pitcher Harrison Musgrave on the 10-day injured list with a left elbow flexor strain.

  • Almonte, 24, will be making his second stint with the Rockies this season … was recalled on from Triple-A on April 7 and made three appearances for the Rockies prior to his April 15 option, and posted no record with a 6.23 ERA (4.1 IP, 3 ER), two walks and one strikeout … with Albuquerque, is 0-2 with a 4.32 ERA (8.1 IP, 4 ER), six walks and 11 strikeouts … made his Major League debut for the Rockies on June 21, 2018 vs. New York-NL and has gone 0-0 with a 2.84 ERA (19.0 IP, 6 ER), six walks and 15 strikeouts in 17 relief appearances in his career with Colorado.   • Johnson, 29, will also be making his second stint with the Rockies this season … made his first career Opening Day roster and was optioned to Triple-A on April 29 … in two games for Albuquerque, combined for one hit and four strikeouts across three innings of work … has gone 0-1 with a 5.59 ERA (9.2 IP, 6 ER), nine walks and nine strikeouts over 12 appearances with the Rockies this season … made his Major League debut on Sept. 9, 2018 vs. Los Angeles-NL and allowed no runs with two strikeouts over 0.2 innings of work … across parts of two seasons with Colorado, has gone 1-1 with a 5.06 ERA (16.0 IP, 9 ER), 11 walks and 18 strikeouts.
