Colorado Rockies reinstate left-handed pitcher Mike Dunn from 10-day injured list

DENVER – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated left-handed pitcher Mike Dunn from the 10-day injured list (left a/c joint inflammation) and have optioned left-hander Phillip Diehl to Triple-A Albuquerque.

  • Dunn, 34, was placed on the 10-day injured list on June 6 with left a/c joint inflammation, his first stint on the injured list this season … is 1-0 with a 5.19 ERA (17.1 IP, 10 ER), six walks and 14 strikeouts in 27 appearances this year … since 2010, he ranks third among all left-handed pitchers with 550 games … ranks 13th among all pitchers in appearances over that span … in 120 appearances for Colorado since 2017, is 6-1 with a 5.53 ERA (84.2 IP, 52 ER), 52 walks and 83 strikeouts … since making his Major League debut in 2009, he is 34-26 with a 3.93 ERA (435.2 IP, 190 ER), 224 walks and 472 strikeouts across 554 appearances with the New York Yankees (2009), Atlanta Braves (2010), Miami Marlins (2011-2016) and Rockies (2017-19).   • Diehl, 24, had his contract selected Monday and made his Major League debut the following night … made two appearances against the Cubs, combining to allow four runs on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts over two innings of work … has no record and a 2.30 ERA (27.1 IP, 7 ER), eight walks and 29 strikeouts across 23 combined appearances between Double-A Hartford and Triple-A Albuquerque this season … was acquired by Colorado from New York-AL in exchange for outfielder Mike Tauchman on March 23 … was originally selected by New York-AL in the 27th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft out of Louisiana Tech … in parts of four Minor League seasons, has combined to go 16-6 with seven saves, a 2.72 ERA (221.2 IP, 67 ER), 63 walks and 279 strikeouts.
