The Kansas City Royals announced today that they’ve optioned pitchers Arnaldo Herenandez, Ben Lively and Jake Newberry to Omaha (AAA) and assigned pitchers Jake Kalish and Andres Machado to minor league camp.

Following today’s moves, the Royals have 59 players in Major League camp, which includes right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn (60-day IL) and left-handed pitcher Eric Skoglund (restricted list). Of the 59 players remaining, 37 of them are on the Major League Reserve List.
