The Kansas City Royals will host the Los Angeles Angels (April 26-28) and Tampa Bay Rays (April 29-May 2). Many players will take part in events throughout the homestand, including a Strike Out Slavery Press Conference (April 26), Noah’s Crown Town 5K (April 27) and the Alex Gordon Classic (April 27). See below for more details.

Friday, April 26 – Los Angeles Angels vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.

  • Strike Out Slavery Press Conference - Pitcher Brad Keller and Los Angeles Angels first baseman Albert Pujols will participate in a 1 p.m. press conference in the Royals Interview Room announcing the Strike Out Slavery event and postgame concert featuring GRAMMY® Award-winning recording artist Ms. Lauryn Hill. That concert takes place after the New York Mets vs. Royals game on Saturday, August 17. The two players will join others to discuss their commitment to the fight against modern day slavery.
  • Green Team – During select games throughout the season, local organizations and volunteers who sign up to be a part of the Royals Green Team, sponsored by Republic Services, will help collect aluminum and recyclable plastics at the stadium gates and throughout from the stands.   • KCP&L VIP Kids – The Royals and KCP&L will host foster care children and their families to select games throughout the season. Each child from Foster Adopt Connect will receive complimentary tickets, a special t-shirt and a free meal courtesy of ARAMARK and Papa John’s Pizza. The special guests will also participate in a meet-and-greet with a Royals player before the game.

Saturday, April 27 – Los Angeles Angels vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.

  • Noah’s Crown Town 5K – Pitcher Danny Duffy is scheduled to appear at the fourth annual Noah’s Crown Town 5K. Proceeds benefit Noah’s Bandage Project. Duffy also supports Noah’s Bandage Project through his Strikeout Childhood Cancer program. This year he has committed to match donations up to a total of $100,000.
  • Alex Gordon to Appear at Youth Tournament – The fifth-annual Alex Gordon Classic, presented by Price Chopper to benefit the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, will take place April 26-28. Prior to the Royals game Saturday, Gordon will meet the top three teams who raised the most money for the foundation leading up to the event. The top two fundraising teams will be on-field before the game.  
  • Kennedy to host Group from Vance Air Force Base – For the third straight season, on each Saturday home game, pitcher Ian Kennedy and his wife, Allison, host a group in a fully-catered Dugout Suite. This day, guests from Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Okla., will meet Kennedy prior to the game, and each guest will receive a special gift from the family.

Sunday, April 28 – Los Angeles Angels vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.

  • Umps Care – The Royals partner with Major League Baseball umpires to offer memorable baseball experiences for children awaiting adoption and at-risk youth in mentoring programs. The children receive a VIP experience, including complimentary tickets, a baseball goody bag and the unique opportunity to step onto the field for a souvenir baseball and photo.

Monday, April 29 – Tampa Bay Rays vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.

Tuesday, April 30 – Tampa Bay Rays vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.

Wednesday, May 1 – Tampa Bay Rays vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.

  • **Dream Factory **– Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wishes of Dream Factory children. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, will meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast.  

Thursday, May 2 – Tampa Bay Rays vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.

  • School Day at The K presented by FOX 4 and Price Chopper – The Royals, FOX 4 WDAF-TV and Price Chopper welcome students to Kauffman Stadium for the largest educational field trip in Kansas City. The event will feature an on-field weather and science demonstrations hosted by the Fox 4 weather team. Gates open at 8:30 a.m. with the presentation scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. For more information, visit www.royals.com/schoolday
