Homestand features Royals Charities Broadcast Auction and Golf Tournament

KANSAS CITY, MO (May 9, 2019) – The Kansas City Royals will host the Philadelphia Phillies (May 10-12) and Texas Rangers (May 14-16). Royals Charities will host two of their premiere events during the homestand including the Broadcast Auction (May 10) and Golf Tournament (May 13).  See below for more details.

Friday, May 10 – Philadelphia Phillies vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.

  • Royals Charities Broadcast Auction – Royals Charities and FOX Sports Kansas City will partner for the 10th-annual Broadcast Auction, which will take place throughout the television broadcast when the Royals host the Philadelphia Phillies. Viewers will have the opportunity to bid on several unique experiences and purchase a special ticket package with a Charlie Hustle t-shirt for just $40. The Broadcast Auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. during Royals Live and run until the last out of the ninth inning. For more information, visit www.royals.com/broadcastauction
  • KCP&L VIP Kids – The Royals and KCP&L will host foster care children and their families to select games throughout the season. Each child from Foster Adopt Connect will receive complimentary tickets, a special t-shirt and a free meal courtesy of ARAMARK and Papa John’s Pizza. The special guests will also participate in a meet-and-greet with a Royals player before the game.

Saturday, May 11 – Philadelphia Phillies vs. Royals, 6:15 p.m.

  • Gut It Out – Pitcher Jake Diekman will host a group of pediatric IBD patients for a pre-game meet and greet as part of the Gut It Out Foundation’s Traveling Support Group.
  • Play Ball Team – The Royals and Major League Baseball are encouraging youth to play ball. Throughout the season, the Club will invite youth baseball and softball teams to enjoy a day at The K. The Royals will host fast pitch softball team, Diamond Club Premier.
  • Kennedy to host Group from USO of Missouri – For the third straight season, on each Saturday home game, pitcher Ian Kennedy and his wife, Allison, host a group in a fully-catered Dugout Suite. This day, guests from USO of Missouri, will meet Kennedy prior to the game, and each guest will receive a special gift from the family.

Sunday, May 12 – Philadelphia Phillies vs. Royals, 1:15 p.m.

  • Breast Cancer Awareness – The Royals will join Major League Baseball to host and recognize breast cancer survivors on Mother’s Day. Survivors will be honored on the field during a special pregame presentation. The team is asking fans to wear pink in honor of the breast cancer survivors in their lives. In addition, Susan G. Komen Kansas & Western Missouri will be the beneficiary of the Royals Charities 50/50 Raffle, presented by Edelman and Thompson. 

Monday, May 13 – Off Day

  • **Royals Charities Celebrity Golf Tournament – **Royals Charities is set to host the 12th-annual Celebrity Golf Tournament featuring current and former Royals at the Shadow Glen Golf Club in Olathe, Kan. Sponsors, including Aramark, Bluemedia, DEMDACO, DraftKings, FitVine Wine, FOX Sports Kansas City, MillerCoors, Pepsi, Price Chopper, The University of Kansas Health System and others, purchased teams to golf with Royals celebrities, enjoy great food and beverages provided by local restaurants and win fantastic prizes. Proceeds from the event benefit Royals Charities and Special Olympics Kansas City.  

Tuesday, May 14 – Texas Rangers vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.

  • Brad Keller Hosts Youth from Bright Futures Fund Schools – Pitcher Brad Keller will host select inner city kids from Bright Futures Fund Schools for a night at The K. Earlier in the day, he will surprise the students with tickets to a dugout suite at the game. 
  • Dozier hosts Big Brothers, Big Sisters – Hunter Dozier is teaming up with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City for “Step Up Big with Hunter Dozier.” The third baseman will host 30 participants to the game and will meet them in the Interview Room following Royals batting practice. The meet-and-greet is part of his season-long program in which he is trying to recruit 17 new “Bigs” and raise $17,000 for the charity.

Wednesday, May 15 – Texas Rangers vs. Royals, 7:15 p.m.

  • **Dream Factory **– Throughout the season, the Royals grant the wishes of Dream Factory children. These youngsters, who face life-altering challenges, will meet Royals players, watch batting practice from the dugout and enjoy the game and refreshments. Their Royals experience appears on the KMBC-TV (Channel 9) 10 p.m. newscast.  
  • ALS Awareness – The ALS Association Mid-America Chapter will be the beneficiary of the Royals Charities 50/50 Raffle, presented by Edelman and Thompson. Prior to the game, an ALS patient will throw out a first pitch.

Thursday, May 16 – Texas Rangers vs. Royals, 12:15 p.m.
