The Texas Rangers today announced the club's television broadcasting team for 2017.
Dave Raymond, who joined the Rangers' announcing group in 2016, will serve as the primary play-by-play announcer for the club's broadcasts on FOX Sports Southwest. Raymond worked approximately 45 TV games and also filled in on radio broadcasts last season. The 22-year broadcasting veteran called radio and television games for the Houston Astros from 2006-2012. Raymond also has major league experience on the radio side with the San Francisco Giants and Baltimore Orioles and served as a play-by-play and studio host for Major League Baseball Advanced Media from 2013-16. He also did spring training television games for the Rangers in both 2015 and 2016.
Former major league pitcher C.J. Nitkowski will join the Rangers as a television analyst and is expected to work about 100 regular season games in 2017. Nitkowski has been with FOX since 2014, serving as an analyst on national broadcasts for FOX/FS1 as well as working in a studio role for MLB WhipAround and pre- and post-game programming on FOX MLB regular and postseason games. He is also an analyst and host for MLB Network Radio on Sirius/XM and is an analyst on the weekly Eye on Baseball program on CBS Sports Radio.
Nitkowski pitched in 336 games for eight major league teams from 1995-2005, including an 18-game stint with the Rangers in 2002 and 2003. He completed his playing career with two years each in Japan and Korea before beginning his broadcasting career. Nitkowski also played Dutch Leonard in the movie 42 in 2013 and has had multiple cameos as welling as serving as a script consultant for FOX TV's Pitch, which premiered in 2016.
Tom Grieve returns for his 23rd season as a Rangers television analyst. Elected to the Rangers Hall of Fame in 2010, Grieve has been a player, executive, and broadcaster over his nearly 49 years with the franchise. Grieve will work games with both Raymond and Nitkowski as Nitkowski will also do play-by-play for a select number of telecasts. He has filled that role for FS1 broadcasts the last couple of years. Raymond, Nitkowski, and Grieve will all be involved in the spring training television coverage.
Emily Jones will once again be the primary field reporter for the majority of FSSW's home telecasts and a number of road broadcasts in 2017. Jones, who also hosts the weekly Rangers Insider program has been a part of the club's telecasts since 2007. 
2014 Ford C. Frick Award recipient Eric Nadel, who begins his 39th year as a Rangers broadcaster, and Matt Hicks, who joined the club in 2012, return as Texas' radio broadcast team on 105.3 The FAN and the Rangers' radio network. Pre- and post-game host Jared Sandler will also fill-in on the radio play-by-play in 2017. 
2017 will be Fox Sports Southwest's 17th year of carry Rangers baseball, its third as the exclusive television rightsholder. 105.3 The FAN begins its third year as the Rangers' radio flagship as the club's radio rights returned to CBS Radio for the first time since 2010 in 2015.
