The Texas Rangers today announced that the club has signed their first round selection and 30th overall pick in the 2016 Major League Baseball Draft, left-handed pitcher Cole Ragans from North Florida Christian High School in Tallahassee, Florida.
 
The club also announced the signings of the second round selection, right-handed pitcher Alex Speas from McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia and the third round pick, third baseman Kole Enright from West Orange High School in Winter Gardens, FL.
 
All three players will report to the Arizona Rangers this week. The signings were made official during a Tuesday afternoon press conference at Globe Life Park in Arlington.   
 
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Ragans was 9-2 with a 0.90 ERA and 104 strikeouts in 90.0 innings as a senior at North Florida Christian High School. The 18-year-old southpaw limited opponents to a .122 batting average and tossed 5 shutouts. He threw a no-hitter against Chiles High School on February 25. Ragans was named an Under Armour All-American and was the All-Big Bend Pitcher of the Year. Baseball America rated the left-hander as the 12th-best high school pitcher in the draft and the 6th-best high school left-hander.
 
The 6-for-4, 190-pound Speas posted a 3.00 ERA with three wins in seven games at McEachern High School in 2016. The Under Armour All-American was rated the 41st-best prospect overall byBaseball America, while the same publication tabbed the 18-year-old as the 11th-best high school pitching prospect.
 
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Enright batted .417 (43-103) with 13 doubles, a triple, 4 home runs, 21 RBI, and 34 runs scored for West Orange High School. He actually graduated from Legacy Charter High School, but played baseball at West Orange since Legacy does not have a baseball team. In addition to West Orange, Enright played for the Orlando Scorpions travel team.
