Twins acquire outfielder John Andreoli from Giants

FORT MYERS, FL – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have acquired outfielder John Andreoli and cash considerations from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for outfielder Michael Reed. Andreoli will report to Triple-A Rochester.

Andreoli, 28, started the 2018 season with the Seattle Mariners before being claimed off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles in August. He appeared in a combined 26 games in the major leagues last year. Originally drafted in 2011 by the Chicago Cubs, Andreoli has appeared in 773 career minor league games, hitting .270 (745-for-2763) with 37 home runs and 256 RBI.

Reed, who was claimed off waivers in October, appeared in eight games this spring, hitting .278 (5-for-18) with one home run and four RBI.

The Twins now have 32 players in camp (3 non-roster): 16 pitchers (3 non-roster), 3 catchers (0 non-roster), 8 infielders (0 non-roster) and 5 outfielders (0 non-roster).

Additionally, the Twins now have 39 players on their 40-man roster.
