Twins place Martin Perez on paternity list

Twins Recall Stewart and Name Duffey as the 26th man

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed left-handed pitcher Martín Pérez on the Paternity List. Pérez appeared in eight games (5 starts) for the Twins, going 5-0 with a 2.83 ERA (41.1 IP, 13 ER), 16 walks and 39 strikeouts.

To replace Pérez on the 25-man roster, the Twins have recalled right-handed pitcher Kohl Stewart from Triple-A Rochester. Stewart, who made one start with the Twins on April 24 at Houston, made five starts for the Red Wings, going 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA (20.0 IP, 10 ER), nine walks and 23 strikeouts.

Additionally, the Twins recalled right-handed pitcher Tyler Duffey from Triple-A Rochester as the 26th man for today’s split doubleheader with Detroit. Duffey, who posted a 1.69 ERA (5.1 IP, 1 ER) with two walks and seven strikeouts for the Twins in April, appeared in seven games with the Red Wings, posting a 1.32 ERA (13.2 IP, 2 ER) with five walks and 22 strikeouts.
